Marcela Villanueva

Partner / Executive Director

Marcela is a co-founder and executive director at Marqas. She has more than 25 years of experience in creating and managing brands for organizations in all sectors of the economy. At Marqas, she directs brand strategy and implementation projects for multi-billion dollar companies.

Before founding Marqas, Marcela worked at several global consulting firms such as Lippincott, Enterprise IG (now Superunion) and FutureBrand in New York, where she participated in the strategic development of projects for clients in the United States, Europe and Latin America. She also worked at Azurian, a company specialized in strategic technology consulting. Before starting her career in consulting, Marcela worked at several architecture and urban planning firms in New York in the design and development of large-scale architectural and urban projects. Her expertise in strategy, design and technology, gives her a comprehensive and very valuable perspective on all aspects of branding.

Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Marcela is fluent in Spanish, English and French. She received a Bachelor in Architecture degree from Cornell University, a Master in Architecture degree from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.

Vicente Carvajal

Partner / Executive Director

Vicente is co-founder and executive director of Marqas. He has deep knowledge of the market and a special capacity to evaluate and advise clients on what role the brand plays in complex business situations. At Marqas, he directs projects for multi-billion dollar companies and is responsible for new business development.

Before founding Marqas, Vicente was general manager of I.D. Identidad de Marca, a subsidiary of the Young & Rubicam Group. During those years he established the company in Colombia and promoted its growth in the local market. Prior to that, he directed Strategic Corporate Identity. In both ID and Stratégica, Vicente developed projects for important clients in Colombia. Before starting his career in consulting in brands, Vicente worked in the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit in Colombia, the Financial Corporation of Valle and Cartón de Colombia. He also worked at Wall A.G. Packaging in Austria.

During his career, Vicente has lectured in branding for various universities and for the Ministry of Foreign Trade of Colombia. Born and raised in Cali, Colombia, Vicente speaks English and German fluently. Vicente obtained a degree in Business Administration from Babson College and studied German at the Goethe Institute in Germany.

Adrián Sánchez

Partner / Creative Director

Adrián is co-founder and creative director at Marqas. With more than 20 years of experience in design and communications, Adrián has directed visual identity projects for some of the most important brands in the world. His experience includes the development of logos, visual systems and brand implementation programs.

Adrián was design director at FutureBrand, where he developed large-scale projects for clients in several countries. Before starting his international career, Adrián directed his own design studio in Mexico and in previous years was involved in the management of Televisa’s corporate brand image. Adrián has been invited to multiple design exhibitions throughout his career. His work has been exhibited at MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in San Francisco, and he has received numerous design awards. His projects have been published in Communications Arts, Graphis and Axis, in the United States, Mexico and Japan.

Adrián obtained a degree in Graphic Design from the Universidad Iberoamericana in México. He also took photography courses at the Active School of Photography and design courses at Parsons, School of Visual Arts in New York and the Academy of the Arts.

Esteban Ucrós

Strategy Director

Esteban is responsible for leading multi-disciplinary projects in brand strategy, design and implementation for a wide range of clients. Thanks to his training in communications and design, Esteban has the ability to express complex strategic concepts through aesthetic expressions and the application of a visual language.

Parallel to his work at Marqas, Esteban is the curator of Populardelujo, a cultural heritage project dedicated to investigating the local popular graphic culture in Bogota and its creators, a project with which he has exhibited, published and lectured about in several places around the world.

Esteban has undergraduate studies in Social Communications at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and Graphic Design at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá. As a Fulbright Scholar from the Ministry of Culture he completed a Master of Arts in Public Humanities and Cultural Heritage at Brown University.

Edison León

Design and Implementation

Edison is responsible for the design and implementation of brand identity projects. He also directs the creation and execution of digital projects at Marqas. Edison has more than 15 years of experience in the development of comprehensive corporate and product brand programs for a wide range of clients. 

Before joining the Marqas team, Edison worked at Interprensa Editorial Ltda., where he worked as a graphic designer. He participated in the development and implementation of advertising materials, as well as in the creation of internal and external communication material for high profile international clients. He has extensive experience in editorial design and in the management of animation and multimedia programs. 

Edison obtained the title of Graphic Designer at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Bogotá, and studied animation at the Naska Digital Training Center in Bogotá.

Juan Martín Arango

Strategy / Project Director

Juan Martín participates in the development of brand strategy, name creation and brand implementation projects. At Marqas, he is also responsible for directing the relationship with clients in all projects.

Before working at Marqas, Juan Martín was a Social Reporter at Deloitte & Touche, where he handled issues related to marketing and communications.

Juan Martín completed a business course at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia; He studied Advertising at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University and later Marketing at the same university. Likewise, he has a Master’s Degree in Marketing Management and Business Management from the EAE Business School in Barcelona with a double degree from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

Juliana García

Strategy and Implementation

Juliana participates in the development of brand strategy, brand design and brand implementation projects. She has more than 10 years of experience in the development of design and communication projects for a wide range of clients.

Before joining the Marqas team, Juliana worked in several studios and brand consulting firms. She worked as a Lead Brand Designer at Brandnew Studio, and as a designer at Aluzian, Misty Wells and the Mayor of Bogotá.

Juliana is a Graphic Designer. She graduated from the University of Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano. She is also an aspiring Master student in Cultural Studies from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, with an emphasis on research in theory and history of graphic design and visual studies.

Mario Hernández


Mario is in charge of administrative processes at ​​Marqas. His responsibilities include the area of ​​human resource management, accounting and the general coordination of all of the company’s administrative tasks.

Before joining Marqas, Mario worked in national companies such as HL Ingenieros and Suppla where he collaborated in the administrative areas of personnel and work. He was also linked to PwC Colombia, where he was part of the Advisory team.

Mario is a Human Resources Administrator specialized in Payroll and Personnel Administration. He has attended Quality, Accounting and Administration workshops.

Judit Pinzón

Project Director

Judit directs brand design projects at Marqas, managing the relationship with clients through all stages of the project: from the presentation of proposals, to production and implementation. Much of her work is to ensure that deliverables meet the project needs and the clients’ expectations. She is responsible for the Sura account, which is a leading insurance and financial products company in Latin America. She also leads the digital area at Marqas Mexico, since she has more than 12 years of experience in the subject.

Before joining Marqas, Judit founded Wandoo Design, an interactive design consultancy focused on UX and UI. Her projects focused mainly on information architecture, user experience and interface design. In addition, she worked at Experientia (Turin, Italy) as Interaction Designer and at MRM Worldwide Mexico (Mc Cann Erickson) as Interactive Art Director.

Judit holds a Master’s Degree in Interactive Design from Domus Academy in Milan, Italy and a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Design from the University of the Americas-Puebla, Mexico. Her work has been exhibited at Salone Satellite, a space focused on emerging young designers at the Milano Design Week.

Juan Pablo Vega

Design Director

Juan Pablo is responsible for the direction of all design projects at Marqas. With more than 17 years of experience in the field, Juan Pablo has worked for well-known brands at a regional and global level, developing projects that range from the creation of brands and visual systems, to their application in brand guardianship programs in Mexico and LATAM.

Juan Pablo loves brands and firmly believes in the relationship between the strategic and creative areas. He has worked in multi-disciplinary teams in well-known branding, advertising and design agencies. His work has been mentioned in design magazines and has won editorial awards for corporate identity and advertising projects.

Juan Pablo obtained a degree in Graphic Design from La Salle University in Mexico. He has also participated in various courses and workshops in creative process management and art direction.

Iris Martínez


Iris is part of Marqas’ creative team. She works on design and brand implementation projects, as well as 2D and 3D animation projects.

Before joining Marqas, Iris served as a fellow at the International Association of Arts Sciences (NASART) where she collaborated in various social and artistic campaigns for the design and production of print and audiovisual media. She participated in Cultura UNAM in the development of graphic image and animation of various cultural events. In her professional field she has worked on interior design projects for brands and events developing 3D proposals, as well as in animation and illustration projects with different brands such as Paypal, Bancomer, among others.

Iris obtained a degree in Design and Visual Communications at the National Autonomous University in Mexico with a specialization in editorial design and illustration. She has taken numerous animation and 3D courses.

Lizette Baltazar


Lizzete is a graphic designer at Marqas. She participates in the creation and development of different design projects e for a wide range of clients. In addition to developing creative work, she maintains the relationship with several clients and is responsible for the implementation of their brand.

Before coming to Marqas, Lizzete spent 3 years at Sol Consultores, where he worked on developing brand identity and packaging design projects for brands such as Hanes Brands Inc., Madrileña, Terrafertil, Grupo Bafar, Koblenz Electric, among others.

Liz obtained a degree in Graphic Design at La Salle University in Mexico. Since her graduation in 2015, she has dedicated herself to solving graphic design problems and enjoying design in each project she develops, whether business or personal.

Jéssica Jiménez


Jéssica is a graphic designer at Marqas. She is part of the brand management team and is responsible for creating guidelines to facilitate the application of the brand to the different communication materials. She also participates in the creation and development of identity projects.

Before working at Marqas, Jéssica worked in advertising with renowned brands such as Mercado Libre, FUD and Wide Reyes, developing digital communication campaigns, social networks and BTL.

Jéssica obtained a degree in Graphic Design at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico. Since her graduation, she has dedicated herself to the graphic arts in different design agencies. Photography, editorial design and the development of concepts for corporate identity are the areas of her work that she enjoys the most.

José Pablo Carrillo


José Pablo is a designer at Marqas. He is responsible for the analysis, conceptualization and development of design projects for different clients. He is passionate about dance, singing and photography. Order and clarity in the creative processes are your best tools.

José Pablo obtained a degree in Visual Communications with honors at the Universidad Centro and has dedicated himself to the design of brand identity and editorial projects since the beginning of his career; discovering the impact and power that a good visual narrative can have today in the world.  

Rodrigo Esquinca


Rodrigo is a designer in Marqas. He participates in the design, conceptualization and development of projects, supporting the creation and implementation of brand identities.

With more than five years of experience in the field of graphic arts and design, Rodrigo has dealt with issues of illustration, editorial design and brand design in collaboration with important companies such as Google, UNAM, SEDUVI, Funsalud, #Verificados 19S , Liverpool, Timex, UANL, and CCEmx. Likewise, he has collaborated in celebrated projects such as the winning documentary of Ariel “La Bñeca Tetona”.

Rodrigo obtained a degree with honors in Visual Communication from the University Center. His work has been exhibited in the Franz Mayer museum as part of the International Poster Biennial in Mexico and reproduced in spaces such as the Teatro Rosalío Solana Cinema and the Vive Latino Festival. With an interest in multidisciplinary projects, Rodrigo strives to create efficient and creative solutions for the needs of each client.
